Netcot Screen Saver

I’ve put together an Photo Feed of some of the best pictures I’ve taken in Disney parks. By following the directions (at the very bottom of this page) you can set up a screen saver on your Mac or PC that automatically connects to Netcot to download the pictures in this feed.

The best part is that your computer will automatically check for new pictures and downloads them whenever I add pictures to my albums. So you’ll always have fresh Disney photos!

If you have problems with the information below and just want to view the albums, then stop by Van’s .Mac home page for a list of the available albums.

Netcot Photocast (Screen Saver) Feeds:

Already know how to use these? Then go ahead and click on the feed(s) you want to subscribe to. We’re adding new content all the time, so be on the look-out for updates.

Netcot.Photocast: DisneylandPhotos from where it all started … Disneyland in California including Disney’s California Adventure and the Downtown Disney area.
Netcot.Photocast: Disneyland ParisPhotos from Disneyland Paris aka EuroDisney.
Netcot.Photocast: Disney WorldOur largest photocast! Photos from Walt Disney World. This one will be updated most often.

Here’s how to set up your computer to access these albums (either to view, or use as your screen saver):Mac Users:
(You can view these photocasts in Safari or you can subscribe to them and use them as your screen saver if you have iPhoto by doing the following.)

  1. Open iPhoto and click on File\Subscribe to Photofeed…
  2. Enter the address of the feed link above (you may want to right-click on the link to copy it)
  3. Click the OK button and you’ll see a new folder appear. The images will begin downloading immediately.
  4. You can set this photocast to be your screen saver by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper-left corner (or access System Preferences),
  5. Then click on the “Desktop & Screen Saver” icon
  6. Find the name of the Netcot photocast you want to use and click it.

PC Users:

  1. You will need an RSS screen saver. I suggest using the Google screen saver. Download and install this (be careful to only install the software items you want – Google will automatically add a few to your “download pack”).
  2. Once the software has been installed, open your display properties from the Control Panel (or right-click anywhere on your desktop, then select “properties”)
  3. Access the “Screen Saver” settings
  4. Make sure that “Google Photos Screen Saver” is selected. Click the “Settings” button.
  5. Make sure that the “Photo Feeds” option has a check-mark by it.
  6. Right-click on the link (above) of the name of the photo feed you want to subscribe to (on this page).
  7. In the first open box, paste in the link you copied in #6 into the feed address list.
  8. Press the “Add” button (you can repeat steps 6-8 for all of the photo feeds on this page you want to subscribe to).
  9. (You may want to un-check the “Default Google Photo Feed” option). Press “Done” and exit the Screen Saver settings window.

When you’ve completed these steps (Mac or PC) your computer will automatically check the Netcot server periodically and update the photo feed with any new images we’ve added to the feed’s details. That means you’ll always have a fresh screen saver from Netcot.com!
