Walt Disney’s Opera
According to the BBC, The New York City Opera has commissioned Philip Glass (“Einstein on the Beach”) to write a new show about Walt Disney. “The Perfect American” will be an American version of Peter Stephan Jungk’s novel “Der König von Amerika.” The show is scheduled to premier in the 2012-2013 season.
El Capitan Theatre for Sale
The Mercury News is reporting that the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is up for sale.
