Disney-ABC Captures 97 Primtime Emmy Nominations


The Disney-ABC Television group gained 97 (by my count) Primetime Emmy Nominations. Included in this group is the ABC Network, ESPN, ABC Studios, and the Disney Channel.

Sentinel Veteran Moves to the Magic Kingdom


Continuing our coverage of Disney Parks staff (see our news about Jay Rasulo), the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that their own Deputy Editorial Page Editor, Mike Griffin, has replaced interim Vice President of Communications Jacquee Polak (who will return to the Media-relations Director). Griffin was at the Sentinel for over 23 years.

Jay Rasulo Inducted into TIA’s Hall of Leaders


Business Wire is reporting that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo will be inducted into the Travel Industry of America’s Hall of Leaders. He was inducted into the Hall of Leaders for his “sustained, noteworthy contributions that have positively impacted the travel industry, stimulated greater achievement, and raised industry-wide standards.”

Disney World’s Grand Marshals Get New Wheels


The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Grand Marshals in the Magic Kingdom’s parades will be riding in a new vehicle. The new ride is modeled after a 1912 touring car, while being more accessible to wheel-chaired guests.
The new wheels also sport a Disney-esque tread.

According to MyFox Orlando, a man that was returning to his car with his son was accidentally shot July 12. Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends Show Closing At Animal Kingdom


The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the ‘Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends‘ show is closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The show will have its final showing on September 27, 2008; no replacement has been announced. The 28-member crew have been reassigned and 3 of the actors have to audition for other positions.
