Where is Netcot?!

Hi All! We’re still around. We’ve been playing with a few different ideas for the format of the site and podcast show. Our personal lives are insanely busy (in very good ways) so we’re trying not to commit to anything here that we can’t live up to. That said, we have a long list of […]

The comeback has started.

Disney Parks … now with Starbucks

Let’s face it: coffee at Disney parks isn’t the best … at all. Even Kona at the Polynesian is “just ok.” Today, Starbucks and Disney announced a deal which will result in a coffee shop being open in one of their 6 U.S. based theme parks. The first one will open this summer in Disney’s […]

No More Happy Hauntings

For almost a decade, guests have traveled to Downtown Disney on Oct 30 and 31 for a chance at free trick-or-treating and fun Halloween experiences. Walt Disney World has announced that the Happy Hauntings event has been canceled due to detracting from the overall guest experience. Disney still plans to have Halloween and Fall-themed events, […]

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room

“In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room, all the birds sing words and the flowers croon, in the tiki, tiki, tiki room” Disney has finally confirmed that Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room will (tentatively) reopen on August 15th in Walt Disney World’s Adventure Land. This follows a nearly year-long refurbishment after a fire broke […]

WDW Monorail to Stop Running Earlier Than Normal

In an interesting move, Walt Disney World has decided to shorten the time the monorails run from the parks to one hour after the normal park closing time (this begins July 11 for the Epcot Monorail and August 1 for the Magic Kingdom Monorail). This change will affect those using the evening Extra Magic Hours […]

Forum Update

Hey everyone! I just shut down (temporarily) the message board forums. In the last several weeks they have been attacked with spam and ads (not sure how the people behind that think that some of those ads would be relevant to THIS audience, but whatever). I’ll be working on cleaning/fixing them for the future. … […]

Staying in touch

For those of you not getting enough Netcot-goodness, I’d like to take this time to provide two links which have much more frequent updates than has (thank you, social media … for ruining blogs! I … I mean… “for allowing us all to ‘connect’ in new ways” — yeah, that’s it). Netcot on: twitter […]

The rumors…

…of my death have been greatly exaggerated. -Mark Twain. Hey everyone! I’m still here – its just been a very busy year at work. More to come on that topic but for now I simply wanted to say “hi” and let you know there are some upcoming podcasts in the queue that will roll out […]

This changes everything

For years, two ideas have consumed Disney fans around the world as they speculated about when or if they could come true. Now, one has. As seen in this YouTube video, Disneyland is testing a Mickey Mouse character greeter that can blink, move his mouth and even talk as he completely interacts with guests. Its […]

Disney’s Tower of Terror Didn’t Cause A Stroke

According to a jury, Walt Disney World’s Tower of Terror ride did not cause a stroke for Marvin Cohen from Philadelphia in 1998. The man claims he suffered a stroke weeks after riding the attraction and the sudden drop tore an artery leading towards his brain. Jurors took only three hours to find that Disney […]
