Walt Disney Animation to Invade ABC

Disney’s Scrooge Hops on Some Trains


Disney’s first foray into Motion-Capture film will be another adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In order to drum up excitement about seeing the new animation style, Disney is setting out on a 40-city train tour which includes sneak peeks and summertime snow, among other activities. Disney Parks Go Online


Earlier this week, Disney Parks launched a new way for consumers to buy signature souvenirs. WDW mouse-ear-hats, mugs, snowglobes, as well as Disneyland merchandise, will be available through www.disneyparks.com/store. Other merchandise includes t-shirts, monorail train sets, and popcorn buckets. Note: The website above currently only includes merchandise from the American parks.

Small Brushfire Near WDW


On May 14, around 6:00 p.m. a small brushfire was reported to be about 2.5 miles from Downtown Disney. It’s a slow moving fire and is said to be under control.  If you’re in Disney World, stay tuned to local media in case the fire gets out of control (which is unlikely).

Disney to Open Studio in Vancouver


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney/PIXAR will be expanding into Canada. The new studio in Vancouver will focus on creating non-feature animation of the “legacy characters.” The main content coming out of the Vancouver studio will be shorts featuring the Toy Story and Cars characters, although don’t be surprised if others show UP.

Woman Arrested for Disney Scam


My Fox Orlando is reporting that Nancy Alvarez (a 21 year-old Miami woman) has been arrested for placing false advertisements for cheap Walt Disney World discount tickets and packages, which scammed about $7,500 from the customers. The Return of Flash Mountain to Disneyland


  According to TIME, Suzi Brown, spokeswoman for Disneyland, has confirmed that several employees have been reassigned. They were previously in charge of scanning through photographs taken on Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, California Screamin’, and Space Mountain, for any signs of nudity or vulgar expressions. The company began screening 10 years ago.

Disney Buys into Hulu


According to Bloomberg News, the Walt Disney Company has bought 27% of the internet streaming site, Hulu.
