TBS Sues ABC
Bloomberg News is reporting that the Tokyo Broadcasting System is suing ABC for copyright issues pertaining to the network’s hit summer show “Wipeout”. So far, TBS is claiming that the summer sensation violated copyright issues on three of its Japanese shows.

Oriental Land Company Scraps Plans for New Disney Park.
Reuters is reporting that the Oriental Land Company (the company behind the Tokyo Disneyland Resort) has scrapped plans for another Disney park in Japan. The company’s sole decision against the park is that there were “poor prospects of the project’s investment returns.” The park would have been an “urban-style” theme park.

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Super Soaps Weekend at Disney World will see its last year this year. Walt Disney’s Opera
According to the BBC, The New York City Opera has commissioned Philip Glass (”Einstein on the Beach”) to write a new show about Walt Disney. “The Perfect American” will be an American version of Peter Stephan Jungk’s novel “Der König von Amerika.” The show is scheduled to premier in the 2012-2013 season.
New Disney Magazine to be Launched
DMNews is reporting that Tim Foster (Guide to the Magic) and Lou Mongello (WDW Radio) are teaming up to form Celebrations-an unofficial magazine for Disney fans. It will be distributed every other month and the founders hope it will fill the gap left after Disney stopped their official magazine, the Disney Magazine.
