New Overlays Coming to WDW Monorails

In a somewhat surprising move, part of the Walt Disney World Monorail will be made to look like light-cycles in preparation for the upcoming “TRON: Legacy” movie. [Concept art below]

The trains on the EPCOT line will get the TRON overlay as early as later this month (The film premieres on December 17, 2010).

Very cool graphic! And the application makes sense.

They’re not just slapping random graphics on there like balloons or something (buses).

Light Cycle for the win!!!!!!

When I was at the midnight showing of “Alice in Wonderland” there was a palpable sense of awe that swept through the audience when the trailer for “TRON: Legacy” appeared on the screen.
I also believe the monorail overlay is a clever marketing tool. Thanks for the pictures!

One thing I found quite odd during my trip to WDW about two weeks ago is even though they had TRON slapped on the sides of the monorails, they had no TRON merchandise anywhere. My inner nerd was sad.
