Walt Disney Company To Acquire Marvel For $4 Billion


According to the AP, The Walt Disney Company is purchasing Marvel Entertainment Inc. for about $4 billion in cash and stock bringing characters like Spider-Man and 5,000 other characters into the Disney universe. Disney indicated that Marvel shareholders will receive $30 per share plus 0.745 in Disney shares for every Marvel share they have.

I think we now know what the 5th park should be.

There should not be a 5th park. Improve the existing 4.

DCA becomes Pixar/Marvel Land?

What will this mean for Universal… Will they have to shut down the rides based off of Marvel characters?

That was the first thought that came to my mind Al. Maybe this means Disney will buy up Universal too. :p

I think it means WIN for Disney all around but specifically the competitive side of me thinks its a WIN for WDW because now Universal is stuck either paying a competitor royalties/contracts/etc., marketing a competitor’s product, and/or eventually re-themeing one of their most popular lands … WHOOPS.
