Disney’s Magic Makers: Russi Taylor

Russi Taylor was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 4, 1944. As she grew up, she had a desire to work for Walt Disney. When she and her family were on a trip to Disneyland, Taylor ran into Walt, who asked what she wanted to do when she grew up. When Taylor told him that she wanted to work at Disney, Walt assured her that her dreams would come true.

Surely enough, Taylor’s dreams came true when she beat out over 200 people for the voice of Minnie Mouse in 1986. The next year, she met her future husband, Wayne Allwine, while taping Totally Minnie. Over the years, Taylor has voiced

  • Huey, Duey, Louie, and Webbigail Vanderquack (DuckTales)
  • Daisy Duck (Fantasia 2000)
  • Aquata (The Little Mermaid TV series)
  • Baby Gonzo (Muppet Babies)
  • Nurse Mouse (The Rescuers Down Under)
  • Martin Prince, Sherri and Terri, and Üter Zörker (The Simpsons)
  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Duchess the Cat (Babe)

Russi Taylor is still working at The Disney Studios and was named a Disney Legend in 2008.
