Space Mountain Going Down

Space Mountain will go down for refurbishment as of April 19th, says the Orlando Sentinel, and will remain closed for most of the year. Work to be done on the 34 year-old coaster includes installing a new track, a new enclosure for the queue, and a new ceiling inside the ride. Disney’s hesitant to make major changes to Walt Disney World’s version of the Mountain because it is the original.

No word on whether or not the TTA will also stop running for the length of the refurbishment

From what I saw on Disney’s website, the TTA will be shut down as well. Too bad, i’ll be there in June. The other mountains will be extra crowded!
