ESPN-The Home of the BCS

As Netcot reported last week, ESPN had bid on airing all of the BCS Bowl games. According to the Orlando Sentinel, ESPN officials and BCS Coordinator John Swofford announced on Tuesday an expansive agreement that will make ESPN the new home to college football’s highest watched post-season games. ESPN will pay $125 million a year in order to broadcast the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls from January 2011 to January of 2014. They will air the BCS Championship Game from 2011-2013. This marks the first time that BCS games won’t be available on network television.
The only BCS Bowl that will not be aired on ESPN is the Rose Bowl, which currently has a contract to air on ABC.
