1886: Comedian Ed Wynn (Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Uncle Albert in Mary Poppins, Those Calloways, Son of Flubber, Babes in Toyland) is born Isaiah Edwin Leopold in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
1891: Composer Carl W. Stalling (Musical Director for Plane Crazy, The Gallopin’ Gaucho) is born in Lexington, Missouri.
1906: Actress Hermione Baddeley (Mary Poppins, The Happiest Millionaire, The AristoCats) is born in Shropshire, England.
1908: Animator Shamus Culhane (Hawaiian Holiday, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) is born in Ware, Massachusetts.
1916: Actor Liam Dunn (The Shaggy D.A., Gus, Herbie Rides Again, The World’s Greatest Athlete) is born in New Jersey.
1916: Animator Bill Melendez (Fantasia, Pinocchio, Bambi, Dumbo) is born José Cuauhtemoc Melendez in Hermosillo, Mexico.
1921: Actor Brian Keith (The Parent Trap, Moon Pilot, A Tiger Walks, Those Calloways) is born in Bayonne, New Jersey.
1923: Salesman, and Disney Legend, Neil Beckett-Disney’s sole merchandising representative in New Zealand-is born…in New Zealand.
1934: Director Gary Marshall (Buck Cluck in Chicken Little, Director of The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement) is born in New York City.
1940: Disney’s 3rd animated film, Fantasia, premieres in the same theater that Steamboat Willie premiered. 
1943: Actor Wallace Shawn (The Haunted Mansion, Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Toy Story 2, The Incredibles, Chicken Little) is born in New York City.
1944: Lyricist, and Disney Legend, Tim Rice (Aida, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King) is born in Buckinghamshire, England.
1946: Disney’s Song of the South, based on the Br’er Rabbit books by Uncle Remus (aka Joel Chandler Harris) and the inspiration for the Splash Mountain attractions, debuts at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
1953: Disney’s animated short Ben and Me is released.
1955: Actress Karen Dotrice (Jane Banks in Mary Poppins, The Gnome-Mobile, The Three Lives of Thomasina) is born in Great Britain.
1957: Disney stock is listed for the first time on the New York Stock Exchange.
1959: Disney’s Third Man on the Mountain, accompanied by the animated short Noah’s Ark, premieres.
1961: Actor D.B. Sweeney (Sitka in Brother Bear, Aladar in Dinosaur) is born in Shoreham, New York.
1962: Actress Demi Moore (Esmerelda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame) is born in Roswell, New Mexico.
1964: Actor Patrick Warburton (Chicken Little, Home on the Range, Sky High, The Emperor’s New Groove, Kim Possible: The Secret Files, the Soarin’ preboarding film) is born in Paterson, New Jersey.
1967: Actor Steve Zahn (Meet the Robinsons, Chicken Little) is born in Marshall, Minnesota.
1971: Actor David DeLuise (Jerry Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place) is born in Burbank, California, to comedian Dom DeLuise and actress Carol Arthur.
1980: Actress Monique Coleman (High School Musical, High School Musical 2: School’s Out, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) is born in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
1982: Actress Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement) is born in Brooklyn, New York.
1989: Disney’s 28th animated film, The Little Mermaid, premieres.
1991: At Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort, a new state-of-the-art 90,000 square foot convention center opens.
1991: Disney’s 30th animated film, Beauty and the Beast, premieres.
1992: Disney’s 31st animated film, Aladdin, premieres.
1993: Disney announces that they’re planning to build Disney’s America (think Main Street U.S.A. meets your high school history class) west of Washington, D.C.
1993: At Epcot’s The Land Pavilion, the Garden Grill Restaurant opens.
1994: Disney’s The Santa Clause premieres.
1994: The turnstiles at Disneyland‘s Skyway close permanently (mainly due to the cost of retrofitting it for earthquake safety).
1997: Disney’s latest musical, The Lion King, premieres at the New Amsterdam Theatre in NYC.
1999:  Five years to the day, the buckets on Walt Disney World‘s Skyway stop forever.
1999: Disney’s latest musical, Aida, premieres in Chicago’s Palace Theatre.
2000: Disney’s 102 Dalmatians premieres.
2000: The Magic Kingdom Club is replaced by the Disney Club (which offers discounts on tickets, merchandise, food, and beverages).
2001: A new holiday light show, Disney’s Luminaria, premieres at Disney’s California Adventure.
2002: Kermit the Frog receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
2004: Disney’s newest musical production (before Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid) On the Record premieres in Cleveland, Ohio.
2007: At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new sit-down restaurant-the Yak and Yeti-opens to guests.
