Miami Woman Charged In Disney Vacation Scam


According to Fox News, a 20 year old Florida resident has been charged in connection with stealing $25,000 from victims out of state attempting to book Walt Disney World vacations through her company ‘A Fairy Tale Event’. Nancy Alvarez faces 42 felony counts against her for the scam. Her online advertisement claimed for $1,200 they would get airfare, seven nights at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, park entrances, free meals and a rental car for a family of four.

I hope they throw the book at her!

Yes, but anyone who does a modicum of research and still thinks they will get 7 nites at the Poly, tix, food and a rental for $1200 kinda deserves what happens to them. Not even Disney’s own ads are for that low, and they are for a shorter time at a value resort.

Not saying that the lady should be scamming, but I liken it to those who respond to the “Nigerian Email” scam. If you fall for that, I have a bridge to sell you.

They’re not losers. They may just be parents who were looking for the best deal to take their family to the most magical place on earth for the first time.

you can’t blame the famalies for this one. There is a huge difference between false advertising and email scams.

Sorry – I gotta stand by my comment: If you’re spending a bunch of money that you can afford to spend, but not to throw away, you need to research things, and not ust take what looks like the best deal. And I don’t think this goes only for vacations; I believe it goes for all large purchases, from vacations to stoves to fridges to cars. If it sounds too good to be true…
