FOX Awakens Snow White

Have you been a little bit out of it lately? Have your allergies been acting up or have you had an accident? Have you been increasingly irritable or sleepy? Have you been upbeat or shy? Then you might be suffering the Seven Dwarfs syndrome. ABC Studios has come up with a remedy to this situation with a contemporary take on the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with producers Chris Brancato and Bert Salke, writers David Weissman and David Diamond, and director Ken Kwapis.
The Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting that the show, to be aired on FOX, is tentatively named “Georgia and the Seven Associates”. It centers on Georgia Burnett, who is banished from a top law firm run by her stepmother. She joins a small legal office with seven other associates who will all have the personality of one of the Seven Dwarfs (i.e. Doc is an ambulance chaser and Sleepy is a bike messenger that parties at night). Some possible legal cases include modernized fairy tales (i.e. three people whose homes are taken away by Wolf Corp.). Brancato has stated that “the tone we are looking to do is grounded, and the humor comes out of the characters,” which is one of the reasons that Brancato invited Kwapis, who directed the pilot for NBC’s The Office.
