El Capitan Theatre for Sale
The Mercury News is reporting that the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is up for sale. The theatre, originally built in 1926 as a showcase for live plays, was restored by the Walt Disney Company to showcase their movies. The current asking price for the building is $31 million. For that price, the buyer will receive the theatre and its six stories of office space (where “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is filmed).
As part of the deal, the Disney Company will be able to remain a tenant in the building.
