Disney’s Movin’ on Up…to Times Square?
Crain’s New York Business is reporting that the Walt Disney Company will not renew the lease for their World of Disney Store at 711 Fifth Ave. in Manhatten, NY, when it expires in 2010 due to large rent increases. Store management notified the 220 Cast Members that they are looking at potential locations in Manhatten, like SoHo or Times Square. Some in the real estate business believe that Disney will choose a Times Square location over a SoHo location because more families visit Times Square while more adults and teens visit SoHo.
