1904: Actor Phil Harris (The Aristocats, The Jungle Book) is born in Linton, Indiana.
1904: Actor Peter Lorre (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) is born in Slovakia.
1907: Actor John McIntire (The Fox and the Hound, The Rescuers) is born in Spokane, Washington.
1909: Animator-director Wolfgang Reitherman (one of Walt’s Nine Old Men) is born in Munich, Germany.
1920: Disney Legend Paul Frees (most known as the voice of Ludwig Von Drake) is born in Chicago Illinois.
1932: Actor Pat Morita (Mulan) is born in Isleton, California.
1938: Actress, and Disney Legend, Kathryn Beaumont (Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan) is born in London, England.
1949: Disney’s 4th animated feature, Dumbo, is released in theaters for the second time.
1955: Disney’s 15th animated feature, and the first one in CinemaScope, Lady and the Tramp is released.
1956: Disneyland’s Skyway begins carrying guests from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland in small Alpine chalets.
1956: In Disneyland, The Mule Pack is replaced by the Rainbow Ridge Pack Mules.
1957: Disneyland’s Viewliner (Walt’s first attempt at a “mass-transit” system) debuts.
1963: The Enchanted Tiki Room, the first attraction to feature Audio-Animatronics, opens.
1964: Producer Joss Whedon (The Lion King II, Toy Story) is born in New York, NY.
1977: Disney’s 23rd animated feature, The Rescuers, is released in theaters.
1988: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is released.
1988: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort opens at Walt Disney World.
1989: Disney’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is released.
1989: Walt Disney World’s Dreamflight opens.
1994: Disney’s 32nd animated feature, The Lion King, is released.
1994: The Electric Umbrella opens in Epcot.
1995: Disney’s 33rd animated feature, Pocahontas, is generally released.
1997: Disney’s 35th animated feature, Hercules, is officially released in North America.
1999: Tarzan’s Treehouse replaces the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in Disneyland’s Adventureland.
2004: Disney is represented on AFI’s 100 Years…100 Songs by When You Wish Upon A Star (#7), Some Day My Prince Will Come (#19), Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (#36), Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah (#47), Beauty and the Beast (#62), and Hakuna Matata (#99).
2006: Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is re-opened to guests after being updated to include Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa.
2007: Epcot’s newly-updated American Adventure debuts. The film inside was updated with current events.
