100 Lane Bowling Stadium Planned For Disney’s Wide World Of Sports
Disney’s Wide World of Sports will be adding a 100 lane bowling alley with stadium-style seating and a restaurant. It would be the largest bowling alley in the country. The alley could be open in 18 months and would be available for public use when not being used for tournaments. The 160,000 square foot stadium would host the United States Bowling Congress tournaments which would host 13 events from 2011 to 2029 at the facility. The tournament is held over a four to six month period.
John Berglund, executive director of the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, said “bowling is a tremendous family sport, and Disney is a tremendous family venue.”
