Disney to Bring Social Network to DS

DGamer

When the Prince Caspian video game for the Nintendo DS is released today, Disney will unveil DGamer. DGamer is a kid-friendly mobile social network in which players can create avatars, chat, and share high scores with their friends over the DS’ WiFi capability. This new social platform adds another network to Disney’s ever-expanding digital community. Disney hopes that this network will create more interest in other programs aimed at the pre-teen and teen set (i.e. Hannah Montana and High School Musical).

Yes, the DS supports chat functions and has allowed people to play against each other in some games. However, the way that DGamer is different is that the network will offer more features and will only work with Disney video games and disney.com
