(News | Source: Orlando Sentinel)

Walt Disney World is planning on building three-story mansions along the banks of the Walt Disney World canals. The plan is currently under review by Orange County, Florida. Additionally, a few condominiums and time-share units would be built as well in the land that was formerly the Disney’s Eagle Pines Golf Course. Osprey Ridge Golf Course would be incorporated into the development now titled the ‘Northeast Resort’. The current project would have 373 single family homes, 200 multifamily homes and 60 time-share units.

that’s really interesting …. when I worked in CRO back in the early 90′s there were homes we rented that were part of the Disney Village Resorts….I think that there were three of them and they were originally built to be models for a planned community that was never built. A friend of mine worked in housekeeping and they were her responsibility – they always intrigued me! Can’t wait to see this new development.

Go, Van! Thanks for the info. Oh, yeah, where do I sign up? Wouldn’t it be cool if Disney also provided an internal bus system to the parks and Downtown Disney?!
