Disney Workers Picket At Hotels

In Anaheim, California, hundreds of union members marched in front of Disney hotels to protest how the company is handling stalled salary negotiations. The union and Disney managers can’t agree where to hold negotiations after the 2,300 members contracts expired. A crowd of 350 to 550 union members picketed on the sidewalks by the Paradise Pier and Grand Californian hotel. The union is demanding to meet on Disney property but Disney wants to meet on a ‘neutral’ field.

“We want insurance. We want raises. And we want respect because the company doesn’t give us respect either,” said Angelica Gutierrez, a Disneyland Hotel employee.
