Guests Say Bed Bugs Found In Disney Hotels

(News | Source: WFTV)

Guests have reported that they have been finding bed bugs at Disney Resorts. One guests indicated they were bitten at Disney All-Star Movie Resort but dropped their complaint after Disney offered them $5,000 and a free trip. Disney said that they occasionally compensate guests who have less than a magical experience at the resort.

The Orange County Health Department has indicated that the increase in reports could be due to certain pesticides and cleaners have been banned, increase in international travelers and unseasonably warm winter. Disney has trained entomologists, bug experts, on staff to help combat the problem

“Our inspectors are saying in recent months, even the last year, we’ve been seeing more complaints of bed bugs in our area,” said Dain Weister of the Orange County Health Department.

LOL — “The Orange County Health Department has indicated that the increase in reports could be due to … increase in international travelers.”

Are they seriously blaming international guests for bedbugs? I’d love to see the supporting data, else I’m throwing the xenophobia towel.

Oh, man!!! I have to worry about this at Disney as well? I thought maybe they would check for this seeing as it has been in the news as of late. This might be a good way for Disney to plus their resorts…by making sure they are bed bug free!!!

BTW, 2nd paragraph, 1st sentence:
“…pesticides and cleaners have been band,…” should be “banned.” Not to be a jerk, but just doing my part to make sure NETCOT is “practically perfect in every way.”

@2 – I fixed the “band” vs. “banned” typo. Thank you.

I’ve often thought the quality at these All Star Resorts aren’t up to what others are. This article would suggest that to be true, sadly.

I also was shown a service report on the pool there by an employee (who shouldn’t have shown it to anyone, much less me) where the report disclosed that during a pool cleaning, they found one “fecal event” (I believe that’s how they listed it). Obviously, its since been cleaned. But 1 of those types of findings is too many! Ew!

Surprise, surprise, they dropped it when they were offered $5000 and a free trip.

@Van, I think I would blame parents more than Disney for a “fecal event”
