First President Of The Disney Channel Dies

Alan Wagner, the first president of the Disney Channel, has passed in New York of unspecified causes at the age of 76. Wagner was hired by the Walt Disney Company in 1982 to run the startup channel. The station began broadcasting April 18, 1983. Wagner was survived by his wife Martha, three children and five grandchildren.
