(News | Source: Orlando Sentinel)

Spaceship Earth is slated to reopen to the public today after six months of refurbishment. Bob Zalk, the show’s producer, said the new storyline is about innovations and how they will inspire the next generation. The updates feature new show scenes, lighting effects, costumes, musical score and narration by Judy Dench. The ride vehicles remain the same but include interactive touch screens. Imagineers expect to make minor changes from now till the grand reopening in February.

I was able to ride Spaceship Earth a couple of days ago for a soft-opening.
I was very impressed with the changes to the animatronics (they move more human like now)and with the added scenes. I also LOVE Judi Dench as the new narrator.
However, I don’t like the ending. It just seemed to me that Disney could have come up with something better. Hopefully, they’re not completely through with it, since it doesn’t offically open until Febuary.

I look foreword to seeing SSE in February.

Hey, how did you get on SSE for the soft opening? I’m going on Sunday.

Did you simply wait outside for them to open it up, or did you just catch them opening it coincidently?

SSE should be open for most everyone by now… just hang around the door to it if they haven’t opened it up all the way
