Attempted Rape Reported At Disney’s Pop Century Resort

A woman staying at the Disney’s Pop Century resort escaped from an attempted rape at the resort. The woman was walking along a path at the resort around 5:50 p.m. when a man knocked her into some tall bushes. He then reached into her pockets and attempted to steal her room key. She escaped and woke her husband how was sleeping in her room a few minutes later. The husband had the hotel staff call 911 and ran to search for the attacker. 11 sheriff’s patrol cars were seen searching the area of the resort after the attack. The attacker was described as being tall, light skinned black man weighing 190 pounds and being around 40 to 50 years old. He was clean-cut with short brown hair wearing a clean, short-sleeve white shirt and dark pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
