Nicolas Cage Set To Provide Voice In New Disney Movie ‘G-Force’

(News | Source: Thaindian News, North Jersey)

Nicolas Cage will be providing his voice in a new Disney movie featuring ultra-intelligent animal commandoes. He will play Speckles, a mole, that works for a government agency. Steve Buscemi (Bucky, a hamster), and Tracy Morgan (Blaster, a guinea pig) will be the voice for other characters in the movie. Bill Nighy (an industrialist) and Will Arnett (a FBI agent) will also be in the film. The movie will blend live action and animation and is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer for a 2009 release.

“It’s a good story – it’s unique characters, it’s half animation, half live action,” BBC quoted Bruckheimer. “It falls right into the Disney family of films – the kind of films we make, like National Treasure, which entertain everybody from the smallest kid to the oldest grandparent,” he added.

Kinda sounds like a weird movie for Bruckheimer to be doing…

I personally dislike Nicolas Cage as an actor but the National Treasures movie changed my mind as of late… movies like Face Off and The Rock made me gag at his acting. Hopefully this movie will enhance my view of him.

Nicolas Cage can be a great actor when a director either reigns in or uses his “Nick Cage” act. The list of great films he’s been in is long. I suggest Matchstick Men or Bringing Out The Dead as as examples of reigning him in and using his “Nicness” respectively. (oh, and Bringing Out the Dead is Scorsesse, and even his lesser films are wortt a look.) The problem is that some directors have let him go crazy on the material. He’s the dramatic version of Robin Williams. The potential for greatness is there if someone tells him to “Stop Being Nick Cage!”

Am I the only one that thought this was going to be a movie based on Rock’n'Rollercoaster based on the title?
