Disney World Employees To Be Involved In Diabetes Study

(News | Source: Orlando Sentinel)

About 1,000 Walt Disney World employees who have diabetes or are at high risk of becoming diabetic will be part of a first-of-its-kind diabetes study with the University of Florida. The yearlong voluntary study will help develop a model of care that will improve employee’s health and lower the cost of insurance. The study is being funded by major pharmaceutical manufactures and each participant will receive a $200 incentive.

Disney said it will have no involvement in the study itself and is assuring its employees that “all personal information will be rigorously safeguarded and protected in accordance with all state and federal privacy laws.”
