Part-time Walt Disney World Cast Members will get a pay boost to be equal to the full-time Cast Members in a labor contract. The contract took effect September 30th and will run through September 2nd, 2010. This will give better pay and new benefits to 8,000 employees whose jobs range from bus drivers to attraction operators.
“One of the great victories was that part-timers will now receive the same rate of pay as full-timers, based on job classifications and years of service,” Service Trades Council President Morty Miller said. “Previously, there were separate pay scales.”
“Our goals were similar, and I think that at the end of the day we reached an agreement that meets the needs of our cast members and our company,” Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty said.
