Disney Increasing Employees Background Checks

Within the past 16 months, 10 Walt Disney World employees have been charged with sex offenses involving underage children and teens. While what employees do is not Disney’s fault, it hurts the image of a company who focuses on children. Disney conducts background checks and fingerprints all new hires and runs their names through the National Sex Offender Database. Disney has reached out to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the FBI to help create standards for companies to deal with these crimes. Disney is also increasing its internal security measures that monitor employees.
