Protesters Arrested at Hong Kong Disneyland

(News | Source: CNN)

Two protesters were arrested at Hong Kong Disneyland after they lifted banners accusing the Walt Disney Company of labor abuses in China. The incident happened when they disrupted a parade in the park and fought with cast members who tried to stop them. The banners read ‘Disney exploits Chinese labor.’ The protesters were members of a group known as Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior based Hong Kong.

Glendy Chu, Hong Kong Disneyland’s spokeswoman indicated the protesters violated park guidelines on maintaining order. “We always act in the interests of the safety of our guests and performers,” Chu said.
