Muppet Mobile Labs, a robotic Muppet Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker on a two-wheeled rocket shaped lab, has made a stop at Epcot. The Muppets will make Epcot and interacting with guests. The show is part of a test that Walt Disney Imagineering is running at Epcot for the next few weeks. Its goal is to provide WDI a chance to see how crowds interact with the interactive show and to try out advanced robotics. The show originally opened at Disney’s California Adventure. Disney has not indicated if the Muppet Mobile Lab will become permanent or would turn out like Lucky the Dinosaur and move from park to park.
“It’s really interaction in a whole new way for Disney characters, and our guests, because it’s up close, it’s personal. And it’s in real time,” Christopher Holm of Disney Imagineering said. “That’s a very, very different show presence than any of our previous living characters.”
