This is Week in Walt Disney World History - August 18 - 25
This week was an active week in Walt Disney World’s History. Two attractions at Disney-MGM Studios opened a few months after the park opened while a 25 year old film finally gets an update at Epcot. Also, Nemo began to make his influence felt at the Living Seas this week when it went down for rehab.
- Monday, August 18, 1986 — Crockett’s Tavern opened at Fort Wilderness
- Thursday, August 24, 1989 — Ewok Village opened outside Star Tours at Disney-MGM Studios
- Friday, August 25, 1989 — Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular opened.
- Saturday, August 20, 2005 — Living Seas went down for rehab to add theming from Finding Nemo and removing the Hydrolators
- Sunday, August 19, 2007 to Friday, August 24, 2007 — O Canada! is going down for rehab to update it’s the film.
- Sunday, August 20, 2006 — Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Play It! closed on this day
- Saturday, August 25, 2007 — Astro Orbiter’s rehab ends on this day
