Disney Movie Club members information stolen

David Haltinner, an employee of Alta Resources Inc., has reportedly attempted to sell credit card information for an unknown number of the Disney Movie Club members. Alta Resources is the credit card order processing company for Disney Movie Club. Disney sent letters to its members on July 6th warning them that their names, addresses, credit card numbers and expiration dates were taken by Haltinner who was arrested by U.S. Secret Service agents in an undercover sting. It does seem that the card’s security-code numbers were not taken. According to the letter, there is no indication that their information was ever given to anyone other than the federal agents. David Haltinner, a resident of Wisconsin, was charged in Nashville, Tennessee with a federal felony of access-device fraud.
Alta Resources Inc. has made additional changes to its processing and has been independently certified under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. They have been processing charges for the Disney Movie Club for over 10 years.
