- The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will be held April 21st - June 11th this year. The event was kicked off with a special event featuring Nelson.
- A new “Magical Beginings” program will run between August and September of 2006. The program is targeted at trying to attract families with toddlers and preschoolers to come to Disney World.
- Disney’s cell phone service will launch this June. The program will allow parents to control spending, internet access and text messaging on their childrens’ phones. In the U.S. the service will be through Sprint-Nextel and later launched in Britain through another carrier.
- Euro Disney SCA, the operators of Disneyland Paris (formerly EuroDisney) announced Thursday that their net loss more than tripped in the first half of the fiscal year to 102 million Euro (approx. $126 million USD).
- The United States Postal Service released four new 39-cent stamps last week featuring Disney cartoon couples: Mickey & Minnie, Lady & the Tramp, Belle & Beast, and Prince Charming & Cinderella.
- Universal Studios pays more for minimum wage than Disney. Universal’s min. wage is $7.25/hour where miniumum wage at Disney World is $6.90/hour.
