Top 7: Everest Inspired Foods
7. The Everest Snowball – Shutters, Caribbean Beach Resort
An oreo cake dipped in white chocolate and coconut drizzled in chocolate and strawberry sauces and served with a chocolate cookie.6. Mountains of Candy Crubles – California Grille, Contemporary Resort
These kinda look like the peaks of Everest. Its an addition to the Peaches and Cream dessert. The desert is a fluffy vanilla sponge cake with honey scented cream, nectarines and peaches. They basically added the crunchy candy crumbles on top to make it be Everest-esque.5. Snow-Capped Everest Cakes – Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort
One of my favorite restaurants at one of my favorite resorts came up with this cake soaked in amarula, an african liqueur and topped with white chocolate snow. Its kinda like a tiramisu, but different.4. Expedition to Everest Sunday – Jiko, Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort
Jiko, the place with the most expensive Mac and Cheese on Disney property, offers a caramelized banana split with amarula, vanilla AND chocolate ice cream, malted whipped cream peaks and chocolate wisps.3. Everest Cake – Whispering Canyon Cafe, Wilderness Lodge Resort
Warning: The Whispering Canyon Cafe is anything but quiet. Its false advertising, or satire. But its also fun. — When you go check out this desert which is a warm chocolate mountain cake where the summit of the mountain is made of fluffy white meringe crowns.2. Everest Expedition – Narcoossee’s, Grand Floridian
The most expensive resort on Disney property got the weakest desert name by simply flipping the title around in a dislex pattern. — However, the dessert is very serious. Its a brown sugar tart in a chocolate and raspberry sauce with mounds of vanilla ice cream for snow.1. Nothing.
See… if you’ve already been on Expedition Everest, you probably had the same thought I did once you got off: I hope that 83 year old woman next to me doesn’t spew into the paper bag she brought with her. Seriously, that really happened. She didn’t but it got me thinking: you know, old people and persons who are prone to motion sickness really shouldn’t be eating anything before they go on this ride. So, please take my advice. Eat AFTER you ride the attraction and not before.
